Only until the end of this week! Visit Sol Art Gallery, 8 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 and enjoy a solo show by Gerard McGourty.
While Gerard’s work retains the figurative Irish influence of the early LeBrocquy, Dillon and O’Neill, his work also resembles the almost childlike narrative of Chagal. However it is his timeless vision of the human psyche captured through an almost Leopold Bloom-like narrative of ordinary events, which like Blooms imagination, seemlessly flows back and forth through history and then back into the present again, which has allowed the artist to carve out his significant and unique position in Contemporary Irish Art. And when you add the sophisticated and subtle variation of colour in his pallette audiences who attend his exhibition running in the Sol Art Gallery, 8 Dawson Street from Thursday May 19th to Sunday May 29th will be treated to a rich & cultural experience.
